Douglas Park Golf Club
The course boasts a beautiful parkland layout situated in Bearsden, a leafy suburb of the City of Glasgow. The layout has been updated and all our greens have been prepared to allow playable putting surfaces throughout the year. At 5981 yards, par 69 for Gents and 72 for Ladies, the course sets a fair challenge for all standards of golfer and is ideal for a society outing.
Convenient for most forms of transport we are just off the A81 only 6 miles from Glasgow City Centre. Fully stocked Professional’s Shop and resident PGA professional Robert Irvine. Excellent catering packages available. We can also offer meeting room facilities for up to 40 people. Course
The railway to Milngavie had opened in 1863 and membership of Douglas Park mushroomed when a station was built at Hillfoot almost adjacent to the course. Additional ground was quickly acquired and an eighteen hole layout designed by Willie Fernie of Troon. This opened on 5th September 1903. After further changes, the ground presently occupied by the club was purchased in 1922 and further ground was acquired in 1932 leading to the formation of the course which is recognisable as our present day layout subject to one or two later adjustments.
Clubhouse
The present clubhouse was opened in 1938 and provides locker rooms and a generously proportioned lounge with a panoramic view over the first and eighteenth holes.
